1992 Toyota Pickup in Camarillo -- This one was at 2 other shops, the original problem was the wires for the oxygen sensor came dislodged and were melted on the exhaust pipe. Well they fixed the wiring harness and replaced both sensors with an unknown brand, and code 27 (oxygen sensor circuit) was still presenting.
Well, I dont know if I would call this a wire harness repair, I found the wires twisted, hash mashed together and loosely ziptied to a frame cross member and the ebrake cable. Naturally the wire harness was properly rebuilt today, including waterproof connections, new magnetic shielding in the splice area, conduit and fabric harness tape. The rebuilt harness was then routed correctly and secured to the mounting studs under the body that are from the factory.
This little pickup still needs a new engine computer as the old one was damaged from the melting wires, and Im recommending installing 2 new OEM brand sensors.
